Who we are
Eddie On (“we”, “us”) is building a group gift-splitting service in Australia. This policy covers our waitlist, our website and our social accounts. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Messages you send us by direct message or comment, including your username.
- Basic technical data from our sign-up form and website.
We don’t collect payment details through the waitlist. We don’t ask for sensitive information.
Why we collect it
- To email you when Eddie On launches.
- To understand how much interest there is, so we build the right thing.
- To reply when you contact us.
- To meet our legal obligations.
How we collect it
Directly from you, when you join the waitlist or message us.
Who we share it with
We share it only with service providers that help us run the waitlist, such as our form and email providers. They may use it only to provide those services. We don’t sell your personal information.
Overseas storage
Our providers may store your information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Marketing and unsubscribing
By joining the waitlist you agree we can email you about Eddie On. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Use it and we stop.
Keeping it safe and how long we keep it
We use reasonable security measures. We keep waitlist information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist is no longer needed. Then we delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. Message us and we’ll reply within 30 days.
Complaints
Tell us first and we’ll try to fix it. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Social platforms
Instagram and TikTok handle your information under their own policies, not this one.
Changes
We’ll update this policy as Eddie On grows. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. A fuller policy will cover the app and payments before launch.
